What it's like to play here
The North East's premier racket club runs the region's most active pickleball programme: four sessions a week on four permanently lined indoor courts, open to non-members at £7 an hour, with paddles and balls to borrow. An introduction session with a coach runs most Saturdays, and several membership tiers include pickleball for free.
