About

The UK pickleball site that checks its facts

Try finding somewhere to play pickleball in the UK and you'll end up eight tabs deep in leisure-centre timetables, three-year-old Facebook posts and booking systems that don't mention pickleball at all. The prices are wrong, the session moved to Thursdays, and nobody tells you whether you need your own paddle.

Pickleball Zone exists to fix exactly that. It's a directory and guide built the way we wanted one to exist: every venue listed with its actual sessions, actual prices and a verification date, so you can turn up at the right hall, at the right time, with the right change.

What we do differently

  • We verify, then publish. A venue only goes live after we've checked its details against the venue's own booking page or spoken to the organisers, and each page shows when that check happened.
  • We list sessions, not just courts. UK pickleball mostly happens as club nights and open play, not private court hire. So that's what we show: days, times, prices per person, and whether paddles are provided.
  • We write for UK buyers. Gear guides quote prices in pounds, link UK retailers, and warn you before you import a paddle that gets stung by customs.

Who's behind it

Pickleball Zone is edited by Adam Johnson, who plays several times a week, knows the rulebook better than most people who own a whistle, and treats optimising his own game as a part-time job. Every page on this site crosses Adam's desk before it goes live, and the venue facts behind it come from the verification process in our editorial policy.

How the site makes money

Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That never decides what we recommend, and it never affects whether a venue gets listed; listings are free and always will be. The full version, including our testing rules, lives on how we test.
