AI use disclosure

Plenty of sites now use AI and don't say so. Pickleball Zone uses it too, in specific roles, and this page says exactly where the line sits, because you can't judge our accuracy if you don't know how the pages are made.

Where AI helps

  • Drafting and structure. First drafts and page layouts are often AI-assisted, then edited by a human before anyone sees them.
  • Organising research. AI helps collate venue leads and sources into working notes. The facts themselves still get checked at source by the process below.
  • Building the site. Much of the code behind these pages is written with AI assistance and reviewed before deployment.
  • Housekeeping. Metadata, formatting and consistency checks.

Where it never goes

  • Venue facts. Sessions, prices, addresses and postcodes are never generated. They come from venues' own pages or the organisers, are validated against postcode data, and carry the date a human last checked them.
  • Play experience. We never publish AI-invented accounts of playing somewhere or testing something. No play time, no claim.
  • Review scores. Ratings only ever come from our hands-on process in how we test.
  • Fakery of any kind. No invented quotes, testimonials or social proof.
  • Unreviewed publishing. Nothing goes live without human sign-off.

Between a draft and a published page

  1. Facts are gathered from primary sources and recorded with where they came from.
  2. Postcodes and locations are validated against official postcode data.
  3. Claims are checked against the sources named in our editorial policy.
  4. Links are checked so booking buttons actually book things.
  5. Our editor, Adam Johnson, reviews and signs off the page.

What that means for you

When a page says a session costs £6 on Tuesdays, a person confirmed that against the venue's own information and dated the check. When a page explains a rule, it was verified against the rulebook rather than remembered. And when we get something wrong anyway, we fix it quickly: email hello@pickleballzone.co.uk or use the contact form.
