Didcot, Oxfordshire
Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire
Saturday mornings in Henley belong to a coach-led social session, with the coach moving players between courts and passing on pointers as he goes. Bats and balls provided; just bring trainers.
Thame, Oxfordshire
Thame's drop-in sessions are open to every level, with bats and balls provided, and a newer weekend session has joined the weekday programme. A sociable small-town game on the Buckinghamshire border.
Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Abingdon's tennis-and-leisure centre schedules adult drop-ins through the week. They're unfacilitated, so players sort the teams themselves, which suits anyone who already knows the basics. Paddles and balls are provided.
Wantage, Oxfordshire
Wantage's drop-in sessions welcome every level, with bats and balls on hand, so a first game costs nothing but the session fee and a little dignity. Book up to five days ahead.
Faringdon, Oxfordshire
The western Vale's pickleball option: drop-in sessions for all abilities with equipment provided, at a centre small enough that you'll know everyone by week three.
Carterton, Oxfordshire
Carterton's short, sharp drop-ins run on Tuesday lunchtimes and Friday afternoons, an hour each, with bats and balls provided. Perfect for squeezing a game into a working day.
Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire
Pickleball in the Cotswolds: Chipping Norton's drop-ins are open to all abilities, with bats and balls provided. Book ahead in the Better app; members get an extra two days' head start.
Witney, Oxfordshire
Witney's two-hour drop-ins on Tuesday mornings and Friday lunchtimes give you proper match time rather than a quick hit, with equipment provided for anyone who hasn't bought a paddle yet.
Charlbury
Where Oxfordshire pickleball began: the club started here in 2017 as Charlbury Pickleball before growing across the county. A community centre in a Cotswold town, with sessions for all levels and equipment provided.
Bloxham, Banbury
Oxfordshire Pickleball's north Oxfordshire venue, at the Dewey Sports Centre in Bloxham near Banbury. Two-hour sessions at £7.50 work out among the better-value games in the county.
Witney
A historic Witney school on Church Green whose sports hall hosts Oxfordshire Pickleball sessions. The club describes itself as Oxfordshire's friendliest; we haven't measured, but the free equipment and beginner introductions help its case.
The second of Oxfordshire Pickleball's two Witney school venues, on Woodstock Road. Between this and Henry Box, the town is better served for pickleball than many cities.
Goring
A 400-member village club in the Goring Gap, on the Thames, that plays pickleball alongside its tennis. A pretty spot for any racket sport.
Thame
Sunday afternoons in Thame: an hour for families and newcomers, then an hour for club players, with all kit supplied. A £5 trial session makes this one of the easiest starts in Oxfordshire.
Wheatley
A Better-run sports centre at Wheatley Park School, east of Oxford, with pickleball on its programme. Useful for players on the Oxford ring road side of South Oxfordshire.
Bicester
A David Lloyd club on the edge of Bicester, with pickleball among its racket sports. Handy for Oxfordshire players heading up the M40.
Eynsham
A Better sports centre at Eynsham, west of Oxford, with pickleball on offer. A useful addition to West Oxfordshire's busy pickleball map.
