Edinburgh's pickleball headquarters: coached social classes run Monday to Friday at beginner, improver and intermediate levels inside the city's premier tennis centre. Classes are pay-as-you-play with no membership needed, and the levels system means you always play people at your standard. Edinburgh Leisure runs pickleball at eight venues city-wide, with this the flagship.
The rebuilt Meadowbank stadium complex has added pickleball courts to its roster, giving the east of the city space for recreational games and more competitive matches inside a modern arena. Court slots book through Edinburgh Leisure's standard system.
Scotland's national sports performance centre lets the public book pickleball courts online, so you can play where the professional squads train. Hall quality is a level above standard leisure centres, and the Heriot-Watt campus location serves the west of Edinburgh, Currie and Balerno.
North Edinburgh's mixed-ability social classes put all levels on court together, and the centre also takes court bookings for up to four players. A friendly way in if you live near Pilton, Granton or Trinity.
West Edinburgh's Drumbrae runs mixed-ability social classes and court bookings through the Edinburgh Leisure app. Sessions must be pre-booked and are included in Full Fitness memberships.
South Edinburgh's Gracemount offers mixed-ability social pickleball plus courts to book, giving Liberton and Gilmerton players a local alternative to the Craiglockhart flagship.
Out by the airport, Kirkliston's leisure centre runs mixed-ability social classes and court bookings, so South Queensferry and Newbridge players needn't drive into town.
David Lloyd's Corstorphine club on Glasgow Road, with indoor pickleball for members. West Edinburgh's members' option, near the airport and the city bypass.
